Membership Info

The American Institute of Architects does not license design professionals.  For information on State licensure requirements, please contact the Nevada State Board of Architecture, Interior Design and REsidential Design at nsbaidrd@govmail.state.nv.us, 702-486-7300.  

Purpose
The AIA has served as the professional society of architects for over 150 years.  Dedicated to the success of the profession, we work to advance the value of architects and architecture in the community.

The Northern Nevada Chapter actively participates in community development issues and contributes to the living standards of people by improving their built environments.

The AIA strives to respond to your professional needs and the public you serve. We offer a wide array of services, benefits, products and resources to our members.

We invite you to stand with us in developing public awareness of the value of architecture, the importance of good design, and the quality that architects add to our community.

    Membership Categories

    Architect
    Must be currently licensed to practice architecture in the U.S. and proof of current license must be furnished to complete membership processing.

    Annual Dues:$673.00 (includes national, state and local chapter dues)

    Associate
    Must be participating in career responsibilities recognized by licensing authorities as constituting credit toward licensure (intern), or, under the supervision of an architect in a professional or technical capacity, or a faculty member in a university program in architecture, or hold a professional degree in architecture.

    Allied and Allied Professional
    Must be registered to practice their professions where such requirements exist, with established professional reputation. They may be engineers, contractors, planners, landscape architects, sculptors, government professionals, education, industry, finance, marketing, manufacturers or architectural sales reps. Architects are ineligible for this category. Annual Dues: $250. 

Interior Designers and Residential Designers are both considered Allied Professional.  This designation has been created to recognize their expertise.  Annual Dues:  $320.

Friend of Architecture
Membership is open to individuals who support the goals and mission of AIA who are employed in a profession outside the building trades.
Annual Dues: $300.00.
